Maybe you've seen old photos "brought back to life" online and wondered if that's still your grandmother. Here is where AI helps in my workshop, and where it never goes.
What I do by hand
- I scan every photo and slide myself, and I look at every one before it reaches your link.
- Every tape plays through in real time, start to finish.
- If something can't be saved, I tell you before you pay for it.
Where AI helps me
- On the phone. When I can't pick up, an AI assistant answers (778) 401-3739. It speaks with a copy of my voice, and it tells you it's an AI the moment it answers. Ask for me, and you get me.
- On the paperwork. AI helps me keep track of every job and write a first draft of my estimates and letters. I read every word, and I send every email myself.
What AI never does
- AI never adds a face, a colour or a detail that wasn't in the photo, unless you ask.
- AI never decides what is kept and what is skipped. I do, and I tell you.
- No AI company ever sees your photos and videos.
If you ask for a photo to be restored
Restoration is something you choose, one photo at a time. I do it by hand, with a healing brush. AI only comes into it if you ask me to use it. It is $10.50 a photo.
The cousin three provinces away opens your link that night and sees Grandma exactly as she was.
