Simple Steps. No Surprises. Everything Stays Local.

You don't need to know what's on every tape or how many photos are in the box. Just bring it in. I'll sort everything, give you a clear estimate, and take it from there.

SaveThis home workshop in Colwood, BC
I have been doing this since 1991.

I have been doing this since 1991.

Thirty-five years of digitizing home media for Victoria families. Thousands of projects. Every job guaranteed. I am a one-person workshop in Colwood. Your originals never leave my care. There is no intake counter, no warehouse, no staff you will never meet. When you drop off, you meet me. When you pick up, you meet me. That is the whole chain of custody.

How It Works

1

Drop it off

Book a drop-off time and bring your collection to my Colwood workshop. You don't need to sort or organize anything first. From the moment it arrives, your originals stay here, never shipped to a warehouse, never handed to a stranger.

2

Approve the estimate

I sort through everything, check for anything that needs special handling, and send you a clear, itemized estimate within 24 hours. No work begins until you approve it. I'll include sample scans or a short clip so you can see the quality before committing.

3

Watch and share

When everything is done, I reach out and you pick up your originals along with a USB drive of all your files. I'll also send a private download link so the whole family can start watching right away, on any device.

Why not just mail it away?

Your originals cross the border

Mail-in services like Legacybox, Costco, and Staples ship your collection to a US warehouse. Your only copies spend weeks in transit, handled by staff you will never meet.

There is nobody to call

Have a fragile photo? A tape that looks different? With a mail-in service, there is no one who actually knows your collection to ask.

No way to verify quality

You get files in the mail weeks later. If something is wrong or missing, there is no way to go back and check the original condition.

Mailing it away vs working with me

Both options get your memories digitized. The difference is what happens to your originals along the way, and who you can reach if something needs a second look.

Feature
Working with me
Mail-away services
Where your originals go
They stay in town. You drop them off in Colwood and pick them up here.
They ship to a regional or out-of-province facility and travel back by mail.
Who handles your collection
I do, by hand, start to finish.
Whoever is on the line that day, in batches with other customers' media.
Who you talk to
You deal with me directly. Same person every time, and I know your collection.
A call center or support queue, not the person doing the work.
Pricing
A custom estimate after I see what you have, so you only pay for what you need.
Fixed bundles and per-item rates set in advance.
Fragile or unusual items
I look at each piece and adjust. Tricky formats and damaged originals get extra care.
Standard handling tuned for volume.
Turnaround
Local drop-off and pickup, no shipping time on either end.
Often quoted in weeks, including transit both ways.
Best fit
Irreplaceable family collections you would rather not put in the mail.
Large, lower-stakes batches where mailing the originals feels fine.

Mail-away services are a real option, and for some jobs they are the right one. I am the better fit when the originals are irreplaceable and you want them to stay close and in one pair of hands.

Your Originals Come Back. The Memories Stay.

Everything I digitize comes back to you in the same condition it arrived. Your originals are yours. The files are yours. Nothing is stored, sold, or shared. You leave with everything you came with, plus a digital archive your family can use forever.

What My Clients Say

I only had one 8x10 of my grandparents' wedding and was nervous to part with it. The scan came back even clearer than the original. So glad I finally did this.
