Is this for store-bought records by famous artists?

No. This service is for personal, one-of-a-kind discs, the kind that were cut as a single original. Things like a Voice-O-Graph booth disc, a wartime voice-letter, or a home acetate recorded at a family gathering. If you have commercial label pressings, another copy almost always exists, and digitizing those is usually not worth the cost. The discs I take on by arrangement are the ones with no backup anywhere.
