It is about forty minutes from Sidney to my workshop in Colwood. On any job of $99 or more I make that drive myself to collect your collection, and the drive is not a line on your bill.
Distance Should Not Decide This
Sidney is far enough from Colwood that plenty of people assume the whole thing is impractical, and then send their originals to a mail-away company in another province instead. That is the wrong trade. A courier will move your only copy of a wedding twice as far again, and nobody at either end will look at it.
The honest position is that the drive is my problem, not yours. Over $99 I come to you, we go through it at your own table, and it travels in my car and comes back the same way.
Downsizing collections
A lot of what comes from the peninsula is somebody moving into somewhere smaller. Photographs are the hardest thing to let go of and the easiest to keep once they are files. This is often the step that makes the rest of a move possible.
One trip, both ways
I collect and I deliver back. Your originals are handled by one person the whole way, and there is no courier, no depot, and no tracking number to worry about.

If you would rather bring it, the workshop works by appointment so you are not waiting when you arrive. Small jobs start at $49 brought to the door.

Approve Estimate
Once I have your project, I don't just process it. I inspect the condition of every tape and page. If I find something that needs special attention, I’ll call you.

What a job starts at.
Bring a collection to the Colwood workshop and a job starts at $49. If the work comes to $99 or more I will drive out and collect it myself, and the drive is not a line on your bill. Either way you get a written figure before I start anything, and looking is free.

On jobs of $99 or more, yes. The drive is not billed as a separate line and it is not built into a higher price for you than for someone in Colwood. Under $99 it is a drop-off at the workshop instead.

Tell me the date you are working to when you book and I will tell you honestly whether I can meet it. If I cannot do all of it in time, we can prioritise the part that matters most and do the rest afterwards rather than rushing the lot.
